Sometimes, you just have to get your hands a little dirty. Especially when your church asks you to design a gathering space. I’ve had the pleasure of designing two other spaces for my church (see here & here). So, I was happy when they approached me about this new space. As I designed, I knew I wanted to play with one of the walls and create something with visual interest and beauty. I really wanted to do an ombre paint treatment over one of the brick walls. I knew I’d need help with the painting, so I made a call to Julie White, a specialty painter that I have worked with over the years. Julie is a fantastic artist and has created amazing murals and faux paint finishes for my projects in the past—so I knew she could make my dream a reality. So, I put on my painting clothes and helped Julie. (I was a pretty good painters assistant, if I do say so myself!) This project turned out better than we could have even imagined. Not to worry, we will share the entire space here on the blog when it’s complete, but we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share a little clip of us buzzing around.
