Each project is different. Each comes with its own set of excitement and challenges. Each comes with a new set of hopes and expectations. This project was unique, but came about in a way many of our projects do! A few years back, we had designed the home for these clients (you can see that project here). They were such a blast to work with, so when they called us to share that they had purchased a new home in the same community, we were ecstatic to work with them again. We pulled out their old design book and started finding fabrics and furniture to add to what they already had. When you already love you look, why start from scratch?…rather we used their fabrics and colors as a jumping off point! We re-purposed existing furniture, and came up with new pieces for the spacious living room. Of course we love working with blue…and all the various shades of blue work together so well in this space. Our clients fell head over heals with their new home–and we did too! We can’t wait to work with them again! (Though we’re not sure they’ll want to move any time soon!)
When blues come together in just the right way, it’s like magic! We love playing with shade variations and no color does it better than blue. Here we used a staple of a light navy and played with all of the various shades to pull it all together. The clean, white walls are the prefect backdrop for a rich blue. Pulling in creams and camels help the color feel even bolder. Playing with textures and patterns like the ones in the detailed embroidered pillows or the various pieces of art work draw the eye and create visual interest.
