It’s that time again–when we say good-bye to one year and embrace the new.  We begin to take stock of 2017, the good and the bad, learning from mistakes and celebrating the wonderful changes. Come January 1st, a lot of us will be pressing the “refresh” button on our lives–but what about pressing refresh on our homes? After all, it is the place where all those New Year goals will come to fruition. For those looking to liven’ up their place, we’ve put together some ideas to help you figure out just what your home needs for a little refresh!

A Colorful Outlook

One the easiest ways to change up a space is by adding in some color. That might mean painting the walls or finally decorating with that color you really love but have always been too afraid to add in. If that’s you, well, 2018 is your year my friend! We say, keep your walls neutral and have fun with the accessories, such as art and bedding. Check out some of these designs below and let your creative juices flow!

This blush beauty plays with hues of pink in the furniture and art, while keeping the carpet and walls a nice neutral gray.

If new paint is your 2018 design goal, this room has it right. Rich blue walls go well with the warm wood floor, while the pattered curtains pair with neutral furniture. Just remember, it’s all about balance!

Go ahead and organize, but don’t forget to accessorize!

Maybe you’ve made it a goal to clean and organize your home like never before…but now it’s looking a little bare and unfinished. That’s where accessories come in. That empty coffee table might just need a plant and a few books or maybe those empty picture frames need to be hung and filled. For those of you who can’t seem to finish your home, this one’s for you.

Have an entryway table that needs filling? Ginger jars, like the ones above, are a fun way to add color and class. Use a few varying sizes or fill a few with some greenery to complete the look.

We love using trays as a base for coffee table decor–not only do they protect the wood, but they add a fuller effect. Also, try using levels: a low plant or piece with a tall accessory, just like the horn or eye-glass features above.

Freshen up the fabric of your life…and home

You can do a lot with fabric. It can freshen up your pillows, dining room chairs, curtains, and bedding (the list goes on!). If you’re a DIY guy or gal, then reupholstering a few pieces of furniture might be the perfect way to livin’ up your home. (…Not very handy? No worries. There are people who can do it for you. :))

One way to easily change up a bedroom is by choosing new bedding. It’s simple and well worth it to choose something you truly love. You can also be guaranteed it will make the space feel quite a bit newer!
