One of the best ways to add character to your home is through the use of art. Pictures and paintings can finish a room and act as a defining feature for your home’s style. It can be moving, special, and highlight memories you never want to forget. Of course, we know sometimes it can be tricky to figure out what to pieces choose, especially when that blank wall seems to be looming. But, never fear–we here to give you a few tips as well as some inspiration to help you finally find those perfect pieces!

1. Size plays a big factor when it comes to art looking right in space, and a lot of people go too small. Make sure that the scale of the art piece is proportional to the space it’s occupying. If you have a lot of wall space, find a larger piece or do a grid of photos, and if you’re hanging art over a piece of furniture, don’t go wider than the piece.

2. If you have more than one wall that needs to be filled in a room, then what you use to furnish both spaces should complement each other. For example, if you’re doing a large landscape on one wall, then consider hanging a mirror or clock on the other. You can also do sculptural pieces or even vintage doors or shudders to create more interest. Art comes in all shapes and sizes, so don’t be afraid to think outside the box!

3. We also love grouping artwork, especially if it’s a larger wall. Try a grid of three pieces over a sofa to make the room feel intentional and finished. Hallways can be a great space for grids as well, in fact, that’s an ideal area for a family photo wall!

As you move around the room, any other pieces should play off that main art component. Of course, don’t feel like you need to fill every wall. It’s good to have some visual relief as well!Weneta-19
