Blooming flowers, breezy afternoons, buzzing bees—spring is here! And, with it comes the urge to do a little cleaning, get rid of the dust and let the sunshine in. After beating the rugs and scrubbing the baseboards, you might be thinking your space needs a little sprucing—so here are a few simple ways to add a bit of spring to your home.
Replace Those Tired Plants
With everything beginning to bloom, this is the perfect time to refresh plants both inside and outside the home. If your little green friends are looking frail, switch them out. Pothos plants are one of our favorite varieties—not only are they low maintenance but they have a vine-like quality that makes them perfect for corners and coffee tables. When it comes to the outside of your home, reviving those flowerbeds can usher in spring. White roses are a great way to add something fresh and elegant, while for color we love pansies, delphiniums, and snapdragons. Easy to find and easy to plant, these flowers add a variety of hue and height. When it comes to fragrance, we love stock—it too adds beautiful shades of pink, purple, and white to a garden or window box—and the smell is the very essence of spring!
Renew Those Pillows
Spring is all in the details. If your pillows are covered in dark, heavy fabrics, try swapping them for something a bit lighter. It can give your couch a facelift without breaking the bank plus it gives you the chance to add in some of your favorite spring colors. Similarly, new bedding can also make a huge difference. A crisp white duvet cover and a few fluffy euro shams can transform a bedroom. Add a vase full of fresh flowers from the garden and voila! Spring has arrived.
Replace Those Candles
If you’re still burning your pumpkin spice candle from fall, it’s time to replace it with a fresh scent, like Southern Charm from Park Hill—definitely one of our favorites! Or, if you like a sweeter aroma, Spring Eden’s collection, found at Anthropologie, is just the ticket (the Coconut Milk Mango is a treat!) Of course, Capri Blue’s Volcano candle is the signature Anthro scent—perfect for spring and the coming summer months as well.
