After several years of marriage, many adventures, and the purchase of their own home this young couple was ready for us to help them make their house into a home. By blending the timeless style of coastal living with the comfort and warmth of a young family space, we created a place that welcomes all–especially their coming baby boy! We were only too excited to produce a warm and stylish atmosphere to welcome the new addition to their family.
To begin, we lightened up their living room with a neutral sectional and custom coastal print pillows, perfect for this new, exciting stage of life. (Who doesn’t want to sink into a comfy couch for cuddles with their newborn baby?)
For those misty mornings, we placed a cozy sitting area in front of their reclaimed wood fireplace ideal for sipping coffee before the baby is up. By adding a touch of greenery, the space feels fresh and alive. 
The dining table continues the coastal look with a driftwood-like stain, and, with plenty of seats for guests, it’s perfect for entertaining. Keeping the waves flowing is the art throughout this home which brings in oceanic hues and sandy vibes for a relaxing environment.
We knew that when the family was together, they’d want to spend much of their time in the great-room. So, we played around with the floor plan of this home and turned the front living room into a lantern lit library. By placing a rich-hued bookcase along the wall, we could display the couple’s vast book collection and produce a space excellent for meeting with their clients or curling up with a book.
Their bedroom was transformed into a light, bright retreat by day and a comfy sanctuary by night. Complete with a sitting chair and ottoman for rocking baby to sleep, the couple now has a relaxing refuge to put their feet up.
It’s always a joy to be able to design a home that brings the family together, especially a family welcoming a new member! We pray that this growing family enjoys their little slice of paradise as much as we loved creating it.
