One of my favorite things about friendship is sharing–swapping recipes, telling each other about a good sale, even sharing product reviews. I like to think that those of you who take the time to visit this blog are a part of a community and that makes us friends! So as friends of mine, I’d like to begin sharing with you some of the things I love as a designer as well as a wife, a mother, and a grandmother.
So, welcome to my new blog series: Friday Favorites! Here I’ll be sharing the things that I love, are actually useful, and truly bring me joy. Who knows, some of my favorites might become your favorites too! Ready? Here are my Friday Faves!
1. Okay so if you know me, then you know I love a good adrenaline rush–which is why I’ve been skydiving….three times. Surprised? Most people are! But, it’s true, skydiving is one of my favorite things, and the proof is below. If you live in San Diego (or come for a vacation), then I suggest using the company SkyDive San Diego. They know what they’re doing, after all, I’m still alive! Now, if for some reason this post inspires you to skydive–you better let me know!…Maybe I’ll even join ya.
2. For Christmas, my husband surprised me with a Michele watch–it’s two-toned, gold and silver, with a mother of pearl face. You guys, he did so well–it’s beautiful! It’s definitely an investment piece but I love it, and it will last forever.
3. When it comes to favorite design trends for the year, I love the blush color scheme that’s so in. I mean, come on! It’s fun and a little fancy–what girl doesn’t need a little blush in her life? I think we can be prepared to see a lot more of this color in 2018, and I’m totally okay with that.

4. Over the past month, Greg and I have been using the meal delivery service Hello Fresh…It. Is. Amazing. Every week we receive a delivery of three meals with all the fresh ingredients included. Now that we’re empty nesters, cooking is something we love to do. Plus, with our busy schedules, it means coming together at the end of the day to do something we both really enjoy. I tried to pick a favorite meal, but, really, I just couldn’t–every meal has been so yummy. If you’re looking for a fun way to cook at home, then I highly recommend!
5. Here’s a fun favorite…Overalls! I discovered this one when I was in Kauai at a store called The Happy Shack. Ha! The store owner made me put on some darned and dusted Key Apparel overalls–it was love at first try-on. Since then, I’ve purchased two more pairs from various brands. I realize that overalls can be a bit masculine, so I like to make sure I add a feminine touch with a delicate piece underneath. Of course, the best part is definitely the pockets. It’s always about the pockets for me. I linked a similar choice below in case anyone wants to join me on this new fave of mine.
