Every client is different, but there is one thing they all have in common–the want for a place where family, friends, and guests can come together. If you think about the times where your family is gathered, it probably involves good conversation, boisterous laughter, and the clanking of forks on plates filled with delicious food. This where the dining room comes into play–the room set to serve those you love. As we prepare to enter the season where dining rooms are used most, we’ve decided to share some of our favorites!

Did Someone Say Tea and Crumpets?

Dining Room 1

Filled with dreamy light, this dining room is a statement of simplicity. The navy blue walls contrast with the light wood table, giving it an old English flair. Pip! Pip! We love to use neutral rugs underneath large tables–it gives the room a completed and cozy feel without overdoing it. Of course, a long rectangular table means host and hostess chairs at the end. Though most of the seating is a neutral color, host and hostess chairs can be made to stand out with a patterned or colorful fabric. Just brilliant. Now, off to the next dining room! Cheerio!

Small But Fierce

Round tables work incredibly well in smaller dining areas. To create a sense of design, we try to use round tables with unique details. Whether the table top is marble or the legs are beautifully carved, taking the time to find one with something special is worth it. After all, details are what make small spaces just as grand as large rooms.

Come and Get It!

We love a good farmhouse table because you can easily use runners or centerpieces to finish the space. By placing some greenery on top, this room is simple but complete. This particular dining room didn’t have the electrical capability for a chandelier, so we got creative! Using a few candles on a dainty iron lantern did the trick and fit perfectly with the already rustic style.

Pinkys Up!

Let’s talk about modern. Silver, gray, black, and white can make a dining room feel elegant and expensive. I mean, this is the room where you find yourself drinking out of a dainty glass with a pinky up. In the evening, this room sparkles with its glittering chandelier and eclectic art pieces which somehow makes you feel really rather civilized. Though there isn’t a wide color palette in use, the room is far from boring. Using multiple patterns, we can create a cohesive, unique space with plenty of detail. It’s really all about balance!

Maybe your dining room doesn’t need a full re-haul (although, if it does, we’re here!), but as you begin to prepare your home for coming holidays and get-togethers, think about those details that truly make a difference. Can you find warmer lighting, a pair of eclectic end-chairs, or a rug that creates a more inviting space? After all, whether it’s over filet mignon or next day turkey sandwiches, the dining room is where memories are made.
