When a client comes to me and presents their dream home, I love to see that dream through…especially if there’s a bit of a challenge. And, this next home, definitely had its challenges! We needed to take a significant space with cool colors, such as gray and dark wood, and warm the whole look up. This couple wanted a house that was modern and cohesive, yet warm and inviting. It took a little work, but, like I said, I love a good challenge, and I love the outcome even more!
The Dining Room
We used a vibrant blue as the accent color for this contemporary house. By mixing it with creams and a few bold fabrics, the space is anything but cold. In fact, its practically begging you to sit down and have a bit of bread and cheese!
The Living Room
The living room is meant to be comfortable and livable, but we also wanted to give it a modern edge. Using crushed velvet fabrics, we kept the space contemporary and, with plenty of sitting room, it’s inviting and cozy.
The Master Bedroom
It’s not very often I get to work with blush, but, I gotta say, I loved it! Of course, it’s easy to go overboard when it comes to shades of pink, so we kept the bedroom sophisticated and simple.
(That’s the master of the bedroom…Bully.)
The Man-Cave
Every guy wants a man-cave–right? Our goal was to keep this man-cave/office cohesive with the house and still completely to the client’s taste. The space is fun and colorful but still maintains that modern look.
