I know many of you have been waiting to see the completion of our latest Kauai project and we are happy to finally say that the wait is over! As you know, my dream has always been to design in Hawaii. We could not have had a more delightful client to work with, whose vision correlated so seamlessly with ours. Being able to assist them in bringing this idyllic space to life was a gift.
Combining rustic elm furniture with the vibrant blues, corals and greens created a current coastal vibe. Because this home will double as a vacation rental, we wanted each room to feel welcoming and have its own unique personality.
In a Hawaiian paradise like Princeville, it’s imperative that the outdoor living areas are not an afterthought. In order to take full advantage of the home’s tropical surroundings we created three seating areas on the lanai. At the front entrance of the home, we included a space where guests can watch the sunrise over the iconic Kauai mountains. At the back of the house we created an outdoor dining area, as well as a separate cozy seating area for watching sunsets while enjoying a glass of wine or a Mai Tai.
Although this project was a tall task, we thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish! Let’s be honest…we went to work in a Hawaiian paradise. Who wouldn’t enjoy that?
